The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department Shooting Investigation Unit have arrested Daeron L. Jones, 36, of Paterson in connection with the July 3, 2024, shooting near Broadway and Main Street in Paterson.
Police say Jones faces multiple charges including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and various weapons offenses.
On July 3, 2024, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Paterson Police responded to a shooting report in the area of Broadway and Main Street.
Officers found a 56-year-old female victim from Clifton and a 35-year-old male victim from Paterson, both suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds.
The victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Through their investigation, authorities identified Jones as the shooter.
He was arrested without incident by the Paterson Police Department's Warrant Squad on July 16, 2024, at around 12:00 p.m.
