Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that left a man injured.
Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said Paterson at approximately 10:01 p.m. on June 9, members of the Paterson Police responded to the area of North 9th Street and Belmont Avenue in Paterson on a report of shots fired.
According to Prosecutor Valdes, upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene consisting of ballistic evidence, but no victim was found.
A short while later, police responded to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson on a report of a 29- year-old male Paterson resident seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, officials said.
Prosecutor Valdes said more information will be released once it becomes available.
