The Newark and North Jersey region can expect a mixed bag of weather conditions today.
According to the National Weather Service, as the day begins, patchy fog may occur in some areas before 8 am. However, as the fog dissipates, the day will gradually become partly sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 87 degrees.
NWS forecasters say the humidity level is currently at 82%, which means it will feel very humid outside, with conditions resembling the 90s.
This elevated humidity can contribute to a stifling and uncomfortable atmosphere throughout the day. Staying hydrated and finding ways to stay cool during these conditions is essential.
As the day progresses, NWS forecasters say pop-up thunderstorms are possibly developing. These thunderstorms can occur spontaneously and vary in intensity.
The wind is currently calm, but it is expected to shift towards the southeast with speeds ranging from 5 to 8 mph as the morning moves along.
