Fire officials are investigating an early morning fire that left several people displaced in Irvington.
The two-alarm blaze broke out at around 2:15 a.m. in the 70's block of Rosehill Place sending more than a dozen firefighters to the scene according to reports.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the house as they began to swiftly extinguish the blaze in an effort to prevent extensions to a neighboring home.
An unidentified male passerby (who was in the area shortly before firefighters arrived to the scene), forced entry into the house by kicking in the doors then rescuing several residents who were inside sleeping according to residents.
A thorough search of the house by firefighters had no injured or trapped occupants reports said.
One person was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
The neighboring house received some water damaged but the main fire structure is reported as a total lost.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
