Firefighters in Passaic County battled a two-alarm fire that tore through a house in Passaic Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were called to 100 block of Pennington Avenue after receiving reports of a fire at around 8:45 a.m.
Crews arrived and found heavy flames tearing through the porch of a two-story wood-framed house at that location.
Officials say flames rapidly spread to most of the home forcing firefighters to perform a surround and drown tactic.
As of 9:30 a.m., firefighters continued knocking down pockets of fire that existed throughout the house.
There were no immediate reports of injuries and the cause of the blaze has not been determined at this time.
