Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools (PCTVS) hosted "She Speaks Power," a Women's Empowerment Panel in celebration of Women's History Month.
School officials said the event attended by invited PCTVS club officers and class representatives was an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into the challenges women face in the workforce and how they can overcome them.
The empowerment panel was comprised of female leaders of their field, including Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, PCTI Vice Principal Jeannie Holman, DCL-STEM Vice Principal Catiana Valik, Real Estate Brokerage Owner and Entrepreneur Jessica Rojas, and Entrepreneur and Investor Luz Echevarria.
The panelist, all successful women from various fields, shared their education, family life, and challenges.
According to school officials, the topics discussed included education paths, career choices, career wins and losses, barriers for women, benefits of having empowered women in an organization, and goal setting.
They also discussed the importance of empowering women in the workplace and the benefits it can bring to organizations.
The engaging panelists provided insightful and thought-provoking answers to the questions asked by the moderator and student audience.
The “She Speaks Power” panel provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn from successful women while providing an empowering environment.
The students benefitted from the support, advocacy, and possibility of networking, inspiring them to achieve their full potential and bring change their own communities and beyond.
