A serious shooting incident in Paterson early Tuesday morning has prompted an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
The violence occurred around 2 a.m. in the 400 block of Market Street.
Paterson Police were called to the scene following reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a bullet wound to his chest.
The injured man was quickly transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities are currently searching for a grey vehicle, possibly a Honda, believed to be involved in the incident as it was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting.
The motive behind the attack is still under investigation as detectives work to gather more information and locate the suspect involved.
