Residents of Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to slightly warmer conditions compared to the bitter cold of recent days.

While the improvement is noticeable, it remains necessary to bundle up as temperatures climb just above freezing in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service, today will feature plenty of sunshine with lighter winds, making it feel a bit more bearable.AdNewark and other parts of North Jersey may see highs near 32 degrees, though wind chill values will keep it feeling between 10 and 20 degrees. West winds are expected at 6 to 8 mph.

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to around 15 degrees.

While the reduced winds and sunshine provide some relief, layering up remains essential to combat the lingering cold.
