The Parsippany Library invites the community to embark on a literary adventure this summer with the launch of its Summer Reading program.
Registration begins on June 1st, and book logging starts on June 10th and continues until August 17th, 2024.
The Summer Reading Challenge aims to encourage reading for pleasure and offers participants of all ages the chance to explore new worlds and discover fresh perspectives.
Readers can join the challenge online by downloading the Beanstack app.
This year's theme, "Adventure Begins at Your Library," promises a variety of activities and programs at each library location designed to make reading a fun and engaging part of the summer.
Summer Reading Kickoff Events:
- Teens Summer Reading Kickoff Event at the Main Library: Water War! Featuring water guns, cannons, and pools of water, this event takes place on Thursday, June 13th, from 4:30-6:30 pm for grades 6-12.
- Summer Reading Kickoff at the Main Library: For children of all ages and their families. Enjoy games, crafts, and fun on Friday, June 21st, from 11 am to 1:30 pm.
- Summer Reading Kickoff at the Lake Hiawatha Branch Library: Slide into Summer Reading with a special performance and demonstrations by Thillai Arts showcasing the art of Bharatanatyam on Monday, June 24th, at 3:30 pm.
- Summer Reading Kickoff at the Mt. Tabor Branch Library: Enjoy family-friendly lawn games outside the library on Wednesday, June 26th, from 4:30-6:30 pm.
Participants in the Summer Reading Challenge will also have the chance to win prizes, including gift cards to Wegman's, Applebee's, and Chipotle, as well as Beats headphones, Lego sets, a digital camera, and more.
