An early morning crash on the Garden State Parkway has police investigating what caused a pickup truck to lose control and overturn, killing one person and injuring three others.
According to police, officers were called to mile-marker 110.8 shortly before 7 a.m., for a report of a crash.
Arriving officers, found an overturned Ford F-150 pickup truck occupied by three individuals, while a fourth occupant was ejected from the vehicle.
Based on preliminary investigations, the truck apparently crossed over the express lanes when for unknown reasons lost control causing the truck to overturned in the grass median.
The person ejected from the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The three other occupants were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune with unspecified injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
