Three Newark men were taken into custody on drug-related charges after Paramus police seized hundreds of vials of cocaine and dozens of envelopes of heroin.
According to police, an officer spotted the men leaving a mall Wednesday after they allegedly unsuccessfully attempted to make purchases using a woman's credit card.
As the officers questioned the three men, an odor of burnt marijuana was emanating from the suspect's clothing and vehicle.
A search of the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, led police to a seizure of four zip-lock bags that contained 359 vials of cocaine and 47 heroin bags stamped ‘UPTOWN.'
The Newark men - later identified as Anthony R. Closs Jr., 23, Christopher Stewart, and Sadot J. McBride, both 22 - were all arrested on drug charges and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
When police questioned Closs, whose name was on the credit card he attempted to use at various stores inside the mall, he reportedly claimed he found the alleged credit card on a Newark street and was trying to buy clothing but threw the card away when it declined.
