A violent stabbing in Hackensack late Sunday night has left one person seriously injured and another in police custody, according to preliminary reports.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Hackensack University Medical Center alerted authorities after an unidentified individual arrived at the emergency room with stab wounds.
Responding officers quickly determined that the attack occurred on the 30s block of Prospect Street.
Police responded to the location and took one person into custody. A weapon believed to have been used in the incident was also recovered at the scene.
The motive for the stabbing remains under active investigation.
The victim’s injuries have been reported as serious but non-fatal. No other injuries were reported.
