A Trenton neighborhood was rocked by gunfire overnight, resulting in one person being hospitalized with severe injuries.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on the 200 block of East Hanover Avenue.
Upon arrival, Trenton Police discovered a male victim with a bullet wound to his head. Emergency responders quickly transported the injured man to a regional medical center for treatment. His condition remains undisclosed.
The area was immediately secured by police, who taped off the scene to conduct a thorough search for additional victims and gather potential evidence. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene and is currently at large.
The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has been notified and is involved in the ongoing investigation.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to help apprehend the suspect.
