Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Helena Exantus, 77, of Newark, who has been reported missing.
According to a statement released by Director Ambrose, Mrs. Exantus was last seen Sunday at around 2:50 p.m., walking near the intersection of Stuyvesant Avenue, near Valley Street.
Mrs. Exantus is 5’2” tall, 160 lbs., has red hair and wore a short-sleeved denim shirt with a tan long sleeved flowered print shirt underneath, short ankle-high boots, a tan colored wool hat, and dark pants.
Police said Mrs. Exantus suffers from dementia and may have traveled to New York.
While police are actively searching for Mrs. Exantus, they are requesting the public’s help in quickly locating her.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
