Police in Newark conducted a shots-fired investigation at a North Ward housing complex in the city overnight.
According to preliminary reports, Newark police officers secured a portion of the Stephen Crane Housing complex after gunfire rang out at approximately 11 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found just under a half dozen shell casings near North Linden Lane according to reports.
Police say 3-4 males were observed running toward Branch Brook Park immediately after the shooting.
There were no injuries reported after police searched the area and police have not released the motive for the shooting at this time.
