Authorities in Hudson County are investigating a shooting that killed a person in Jersey City Friday night.
According to officials, officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 100 block of Wegman Parkway shortly before 11:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the severely injured unidentified person suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Police say medical personnel pronounced the victim dead a short time later.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into who fired the shots and their motive according to offcials.
There were no other injuries reported.
