Elizabeth Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station on Route 1&9 during the overnight hours.
According to police, officers began to search for a red or burgundy jeep occupied by two males who were armed with guns when they arrived at the Delta Gas Station located in the 700 block of Spring Street at around 11:30 p.m.
The suspects reportedly took an unknown amount of cash before they sped away from the scene towards Newark.
Elizabeth Police believe that the suspects are responsible for a second robbery that occurred at an unspecified gas station in the city around the time frame.
There were no injuries reported in the incidents.
