A 35-year-old Orange was behind the wheel of a 1999 Nissan Maxima, when it crashed into a township home Monday.
Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a vehicle struck a house on Stone Manor Drive sometime around 6:24 Monday afternoon.
Upon arrival, officers found a the Nissan partially inside the home.
The driver, Kimberlie Bullock, 35, of Orange, stated that she was backing out of the driveway from the residence across the street on Longwood Drive when her foot got stuck on the gas pedal.
This caused her to accelerate across the roadway, over the curb and into the side of the home on Stone Manor Drive.
The residence was occupied at the time of the crash but neither Ms. Bullock nor the occupants of the home were injured in the crash.
The vehicle suffered only minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
Ms. Bullock received a summons for careless driving.
Construction officials from Franklin Township responded to the scene to inspect the residence and determined that the damage did not compromise the integrity of the structure and the residents were allowed to return home.
