Orange Man Found Shot Dead in West Orange, Identified by Authorities

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and West Orange Police Chief James P. Abbott announced today that the victim in the West Orange Homicide that occurred yesterday has been identified as

Naji Everett, 26, of Orange.

The homicide is being investigated by the West Orange Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force.

On Thursday, West Orange Police responded to a call of an unresponsive man on Joyce Street.

The victim, later identified as Everett, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:30 a.m. The cause of death is gunshot wounds.

Authorities said At this time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing. Additional information will be released as it become available.
