Police in Newark has announced the arrest of **Justin McGriff, 19, of Orange,** for an armed robbery that occurred in the city in mid March.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 3:06 a.m., a Community Focus Division officer observed McGriff in the area of North Munn and South Orange Avenues.
Director Ambrose said that McGriff was wanted for questioning in an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the city's West Ward.
The victim was robbed at gunpoint of his cash, cell phone, and other personal items by several males Director Ambrose said.
Police officers immediately arrested McGriff.
He is charged with Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Conspiracy.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
