An early New Years morning shooting in Orange has a man fighting for his life in a Newark Hospital.
Police responded to the 300 block of Park Avenue at around 12:20 a.m. after they received reports of shots fired with a man down.
Upon officer's arrival, they found the adult male victim lying in the street suffering several gunshot wounds.
EMS rushed the man to University Hospital in Newark where doctors performed emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to the victim's neck.
According to preliminary reports, a black male suspect approached the victim and began to fire nearly a dozen rounds before he ran from the scene.
Orange Police has not determined a motive for the shooting.
