Police announced the arrest of one of two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 8th.
According to authorities, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police responded to the 100-block of Peshine Avenue on the report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers were approached by a woman who told them that her car window was shattered by gunfire. Shortly after, police were informed a man wounded by gunfire arrived at University Hospital, for treatment.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Stewart Kingsley and Terrance Johnson, 27, of Newark, as suspects in this incident and obtained warrants for each of their arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and Conspiracy.
Police arrested Johnson yesterday in the 100-block of Fabyan Place without incident.
The investigation is continuing as police are actively searching for Stewart Kingsley.
However, they are asking for the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing Kingsley from the streets.
Police described Kingsley as a 6” tall male, weighs about 153 lbs, has black hair and brown eyes.
