One Man Killed, Another Injured in Camden Shooting

Authorities in Camden County announced that detectives are investigating a shooting on Wednesday night that killed a man and injured another in Camden City.

According to CCPO officials, on Wednesday, March 12, at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation for gunfire in the area of the 300 block of Morse Street in Camden.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim – identified as Jose Hiraldo-Peralta, 32, of Camden – suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside on the ground, CCPO officials say. 

Camden County authorities stated that officers then located a second victim – a 28-year-old man from Camden – suffering from a gunshot wound inside a nearby residence.

The victims were transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment, Camden County Police said.

CCPO officials said that Hiraldo-Peralta was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:05 p.m.

The other victim is in critical, but stable condition, CCPO authorities said. 

This investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
