An early morning crash sent at least one person to the hospital overnight.
Emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash on Rt. 22 at Vauxhall Road shortly before 12:30 a.m., according to reports.
Upon arrival, police found the driver of one of two vehicles complaining from back pain after vehicle was struck sending the vehicle spinning into barrier and then onto grass.
The driver was transported to St. Barnabas for treatment.
Despite initial reports, that the second vehicle involved had left the scene but in fact was stopped on Route 22 and Highland.
The unidentified driver was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to observe traffic lanes.
The entrance to Route 22 east was shut down while the accident was cleared.
