Police in Newark's West Ward are investigating a shooting that injured a person late Wednesday night.
Gunfire rang out in the 40's block of West End Avenue around 11:10 p.m., prompting a police investigation.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering bullet wounds in his leg at that location.
The injured was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
The shooter fled the scene and has not been captured by police.
Authorities have not released a motive for the attack.
