Emergency crews responded to 303 Union Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a house fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered flames from a two-and-a-half-story wood-framed home and immediately stretched multiple hose lines to contain the blaze.

As crews worked to knock down the visible fire, they entered the home to search for anyone trapped inside. One individual was rescued from the second floor and transported for medical treatment with unspecified injuries.

A second alarm was activated as flames threatened a neighboring home, requiring additional manpower to bring the situation under control.

The cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
