Newark police are investigating an early morning shooting in the city’s North Ward on Saturday that left one person injured.The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. near the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Clifton Avenue.
A ShotSpotter device alerted authorities to gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified individual suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation by the Newark Police Department.Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
