An early morning fire that broke out in a house in Roselle Park has fire officials investigating.
Firefighters were called to the 500 block of Westfield Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. on reports of a fire inside a house at that location.
First arriving fire companies located thick smoke coming from a house with reports of possible trapped occupants according to reports.
Crews forced entry into the residence where they located an injured person on the second.
The victim was rescued then handed over to EMS who made the transport to an area hospital.
Firefighters with the assistance from Kenilworth brought the blaze under control in about an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
