A three-car collision in Freehold Township on Monday night left one driver dead and two others injured, according to a statement released by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the tragic accident.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:27 p.m. on December 9, 2024, along Jackson Mills Road near Geisler Road.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 20-year-old man driving a 2017 Infiniti Q50 northbound collided with a 2017 Ford Transit Van driven by a 40-year-old man.
A 2017 Subaru Legacy, operated by a 21-year-old man traveling southbound behind the van, then sideswiped the passenger side of the van before coming to a stop off the side of the road.
The 20-year-old driver of the Infiniti was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following morning at 6:22 a.m.
The drivers of the van and Subaru were transported to a separate hospital and are reported to have sustained moderate injuries.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Freehold Township Police Department.Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances of the collision.
