Newark Police officials are reporting that due to hazardous road conditions in the area of Market Street and Fleming Avenue, several streets in the surrounding area have been closed to traffic.
Officials say a commercial vehicle used to transport grease or oil leaked its contents onto the city streets, originating at Market and Filmore streets.
The greasy spill continued onto Fleming Avenue and then to Manufacturers Place.
Nearby streets off Fleming Avenue have also been affected.
Drivers are advised to avoid these streets and to plan alternate routes as clean up is being conducted. Updates will be provided.
