A 10th grade student from Oakland high school was flown to area hospital this morning after suffering a head injury, according to school officials.
The unidentified boy, allegedly made an attempted to jump from one set of folding mats - approximately eight feet high - to the other while at the school's gym but fell hitting his head on the floor sometime after 7 a.m.
The student was conscious as he was flown to Hackensack University Medical Center.
According to officials, student fractured his skull and spine, but is expected to recover.
