A 58-year-old Brooklyn woman who had a procedure at the HealthPlus Surgery Center in Saddle Brook tested positive for Hepatitis B.
Officials say the New York woman is among more than 3,800 people who may have been exposed to HIV or hepatitis at the facility.
The New Jersey Department of Health investigation has since reportedly unveiled multiple sterilization issues at the facility, rust-colored stains on surgical tools, re-used IV bags and tools and trays that were not properly sanitized.
Officials say the woman is part of a class action lawsuit against HealthPlus.
