Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of George G. Bibb, 36, of New York, New York on a charge of sexual assault.
Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department arrested Bibb yesterday after learning that he engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with a twenty four year old female acquaintance.
The victim reported to law enforcement that she had socialized with Bibb and a female acquaintance on the evening of June 20, 2014. The victim further stated, that she awoke the following morning to Bibb engaging in sexual activity with her without her consent. The victim subsequently went to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for a sexual assault examination.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified by hospital staff and later made contact with the victim along with the Hackensack Police Department.
Arrangements were made for the victim to be interviewed by detectives from the Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus. During that interview, the victim provided specific details regarding what had occurred with Bibb. The ensuing investigation resulted in the man's arrest.
Bibb was charged with one count of sexual assault.
Bail for Bibb was set by the Honorable James J. Guida, J.S.C. at $200,000.00 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his passport as a condition of bail. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
