NWS: Sunday Showers, Thunderstorms Expected in Newark and North Jersey Region

Newark and the North Jersey region are in for a weather change this Sunday. After a humid Saturday, Sunday brings a significant chance of showers and thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are possible, with some storms capable of producing heavy rainfall.

Patchy fog is expected before 9 a.m., with cloudy skies throughout the day. The high temperature will be near 81 degrees, with a south wind of 5 to 7 mph.

NWS forecasters, the humidity is forecasted to be around 87%, creating a muggy atmosphere. The barometer reads 30.07, indicating unsettled weather.

Residents are advised to be prepared for the occasional storms, which may lead to localized flooding, especially in areas like Wilson Avenue in Newark's Ironbound section.
