Newark and the North Jersey region residents are experiencing a taste of summer this morning, as temperatures reached 67 degrees in the Ironbound section of Newark by 4:40 a.m.The morning began slightly humid and foggy, but the National Weather Service predicts this will clear as the morning progresses.
Today, The National Weather Service said there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m.
Patchy fog will lift before 8 a.m., leading to a mostly sunny day with highs nearing 84 degrees. A light northwest wind will shift to the south in the afternoon, maintaining the warm temperatures.
Tonight, NWS forecasters said the region might experience some early evening showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., followed by a slight chance of more showers as clouds increase.
Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of around 57 degrees.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the warm and beautiful weather, which provides an early preview of the upcoming summer season.
