NWS: Rainy Start, Stormy Day Ahead for Newark

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

My friends and family in Newark are waking up to a gloomy Thursday with persistent heavy rain complicating the morning commute.AdI advise those who can work remotely from home to do so today to avoid the wet conditions. Donning an umbrella and overcoat is essential for those needing to venture out.

As indicated by National Weather Service (NWS) radar, the region faces two significant bouts of rain.

The first wave is expected to drench North Jersey before noon, followed by a second surge of precipitation around 1 p.m. This will ensure the area remains soaked throughout the day.

According to meteorologists from The National Weather Service, today's forecast includes showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m., then additional showers and possible thunderstorms after 2 p.m., with highs reaching near 83 degrees.AdWinds from the southwest will blow at 7 to 10 mph, and the chance of precipitation stands at 80%. The rainy conditions will taper off after 8 p.m., but intermittent showers and storms could continue until 2 a.m., with lows around 67 degrees.

Residents are urged to stay safe and dress appropriately to handle the inclement weather effectively.
