The weekend in the Newark and North Jersey region will begin with some wet weather, but the good news is that it won't last all day.
According to The National Weather Service, Saturday's forecast calls for periods of rain, primarily before 2 p.m., with temperatures reaching a high near 60 degrees.
NWS forecasters say it will be a bit breezy, with a northwest wind of 7 to 12 mph, increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon.
Wind gusts could reach as high as 33 mph. The humidity is expected to be around 93%.
While the morning may bring some showers, the rain is expected to taper off in the afternoon. The National Weather Service suggests we can anticipate new precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
So, if you have outdoor plans for the day, it might be a good idea to carry an umbrella and be prepared for some wet conditions in the morning, with improving weather as the day progresses.
