The North Jersey region is experiencing a foggy start today, with light rain already making its way across the area.
Visibility remains limited due to patchy fog, and morning temperatures hovering in the 40s are expected to reach a high of around 50 degrees.
However, forecasters say residents should prepare for heavier rain as the day progresses, particularly into the afternoon and evening rush hours.
According to the National Weather Service, there's a 70% chance of rain, likely starting after 3 p.m. The day will remain cloudy, accompanied by areas of fog.
Initially, calm winds will shift to a northeastern direction at 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible.
Tonight, the rain is set to intensify, with temperatures rising to around 51 degrees by 3 a.m. A northeast wind of around nine mph is expected, and the chance of precipitation increases to 100%.
The region could see new rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches, so residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
