My friends and families across Newark are waking up to cooler conditions this Saturday morning, as the region braces for a rainy and unsettled start to the weekend.

According to radar data and forecasts from the National Weather Service, rain is expected to move into the Newark and North Jersey area by late morning, with heavier bursts possible.
If you have outdoor plans or going to see the Cherry Blossom trees in BranchBrook Park, your best bet is to wrap them up before noon.
Showers are likely between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with cloudy skies and falling temperatures — dropping to around 48°F by midday.
Winds will come from the east at 11 to 13 mph, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph. There’s a 60% chance of rain, with expected precipitation totals between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Saturday Night Forecast:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible before 10 p.m., becoming more likely into the overnight hours, especially between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Some patchy fog may develop after 1 a.m. as temperatures hold steady around 50°F.

With a soggy Saturday ahead, don’t forget to carry an umbrella — and perhaps shift those outdoor activities to Sunday.
Stay safe and dry!
