As the sun rises, many in the Newark and North Jersey region are waking up to a sticky and humid morning.
According to The National Weather Service, the region can expect scattered showers throughout the day, with the afternoon holding the possibility of storms.
The humidity has risen to 76%, making it feel slightly warmer than yesterday.
For the morning hours, NWS forecasters say the weather will remain dry, providing some relief for those planning outdoor activities. However, as we head into the afternoon, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, particularly after 2 p.m.
National Weather Center meteorologists say the temperature will reach a high near 87 degrees, offering a moderately warm day. The wind will blow from the south at around 5 to 8 mph speeds, providing a gentle breeze to cool us off.
