My family and friends in Newark and the North Jersey region face a brisk and bitterly cold day.
Early morning temperatures hover just above freezing at 34 degrees as of 4:30 a.m., but strong winds make it feel significantly colder.
The National Weather Service forecasts a mostly sunny day, with a high near 37 degrees, but wind chill values are expected to be between 20 and 25 degrees.
Newark is experiencing a breezy west wind blowing at 13 to 20 mph, adding to the chilly conditions. The current humidity stands at 44%, with a wind speed of 16 mph and a barometer reading at 29.82 inches.
As night falls, temperatures are set to drop even lower, with a mostly clear sky and lows around 25 degrees.
Wind chill values could dip between 15 and 20 degrees, accompanied by a persistent breezy west wind.
Residents are advised to bundle up with warm coats, gloves, and hats to combat the frosty weather.
