Residents in North Jersey are waking up to a wet and slick Thursday morning following overnight downpours.The National Weather Service reports that the soaking rainfall is expected to linger until midmorning but will gradually dwindle, making way for clearer skies later in the day.
Despite the early rain, temperatures will remain cooler in Newark. During the morning, periodic showers are predicted throughout the region.
North Jersey residents are advised to carry an umbrella to navigate the scattered showers, which are expected to clear before 8 a.m.
National Weather Service meteorologist said the afternoon promises partly sunny skies with a high near 75 degrees, accompanied by a brisk northwest wind around 15 mph.The chance of precipitation drops to 30%, ensuring a drier end to the day.
By Thursday night, the skies will become mostly clear, with lows around 55 degrees and a northwest wind continuing at 8 to 13 mph.
Residents can look forward to enjoying their day as the weather improves, transitioning from a damp start to a pleasant, sunny afternoon.
