NWS: Hot and Humid with a Chance of Showers, Thunderstorms in North Jersey Region

The National Weather Service said today's weather forecast brings scattered showers and thunderstorms to our area, but no significant weather concerns exist.

Real estate As the day progresses, we can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, with a few potentially becoming strong to severe. 

According to The National Weather Service, the humidity levels are relatively high, reaching 88%. The weather may feel hot and humid with a light westerly wind speed of 6 mph. 

NWS forecasters say the day will start off partly sunny, with temperatures gradually rising to a high near 91 degrees. Considering both temperature and humidity, the heat index values could reach as high as 99 degrees.

The day's main feature will be the scattered showers and thunderstorms, primarily expected to occur after 11 am. While these storms may disrupt outdoor activities, the chance of precipitation is around 40%, indicating that not everyone will experience rain. 

With a southwest wind speed of 5 to 7 mph, NWS forecasters say the showers and thunderstorms might move across the region, bringing temporary relief from the heat.
