NWS: Heat Advisory Issued for New Jersey as Temperatures Soar

New Jersey residents are advised to brace for an intense heatwave as temperatures are expected to hit the mid to high 90s today, according to the National Weather Service.AdAs early as this morning, temperatures were recorded at a steamy 76 degrees in Newark, setting the stage for a day that will only get hotter.

The Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the area, cautioning that temperatures could reach between 95 and 100 degrees.

With the combination of high heat and humidity, staying cool will be a challenge.

Officials recommend that residents stay hydrated and use air conditioning to keep cool. For those who can, staying indoors during the peak heat of the day is highly advisable.

The forecast for today promises mostly sunny skies, with a high near 96 degrees and a calm wind turning west at 5 to 9 mph by morning.AdTonight, expect partly cloudy skies with lows around 77 degrees.

Residents are urged to take this heat advisory seriously and to enjoy their day safely, preferably in a cool, air-conditioned environment.
