Newark and the surrounding North Jersey region are waking up to a rather gloomy Monday morning following a rainy weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, the day begins with temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s, which marked the peak of warmth for the day.
Overcast skies and a notable absence of sunshine will characterize weather conditions.
NWS forecasters say residents can expect a continuation of cool, wet, and breezy conditions throughout the day. Periods of rain are anticipated, with some of these rain showers potentially becoming quite heavy at times.
Despite the less-than-ideal start to the week, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
Weather experts predict that this wet system will gradually move out by Wednesday, offering the prospect of drier and more comfortable conditions as the week progresses.
