The National Weather Service said Newark and North Jersey residents can expect another day of variable weather conditions.
While the threat of scattered storms lingers, the situation is expected to improve compared to the last two days of intense weather patterns.
Today, National Weather Service forecasters say the region will experience a mix of clouds and sunshine, with a high temperature near 80 degrees. The air will feel slightly humid, with a humidity level of 87%.
According to NWS meteorologists, the day will begin with a slight chance of showers, followed by showers and thunderstorms likely after 11 a.m.
It is advisable to keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy in case of precipitation. However, NWS forecasters say the overall weather conditions are not expected to be as severe as in recent days.
The air quality is reported to be very good today, relieving the thick Canadian smoke expected to return on Thursday.
According to the NWS, the barometer reading of 29.75 indicates stable atmospheric pressure. A calm wind is expected in the morning, becoming west at 5 to 7 mph later in the day.
The breeze will provide some relief from the humidity and help create a pleasant outdoor environment.
