After spending the weekend clearing several inches of snow, residents in Newark and across North Jersey are waking up to another chilly morning.Temperatures remain near freezing at 33 degrees, and while conditions are dry today, forecasters warn that more snow is on the way by Tuesday night into Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny but cold, with a high near 36 degrees.
Wind chill values will make it feel even colder, ranging between 20 and 30 degrees throughout the day.
By tonight, skies will remain mostly clear, and temperatures will dip to around 22 degrees, reinforcing winter’s grip on the region.
Though shovels and snow blowers got a workout this weekend, forecasters advise keeping them handy, as another round of snowfall is expected to return midweek and continue through Sunday.
Residents are encouraged to bundle up and prepare for the continued cold. Stay tuned for further updates as the next storm system approaches.
