North Jersey Faces Nice Start to the Day but Occasional Downpours, Flood Watch Today

Although the rain won’t be constant, intermittent heavy precipitation is expected, prompting a flood watch in flood-prone regions.

Today’s weather includes a high likelihood of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 11 a.m.

Some storms could bring significant rainfall, contributing to the risk of localized flooding.

The day will remain mostly cloudy, with temperatures reaching a high near 86 degrees. Winds will start calm and shift to the south, ranging from 5 to 8 mph by morning.

The chance of precipitation stands at 70%, with new rainfall amounts potentially totaling between a half and three-quarters of an inch.

As night falls, the pattern of showers and possible thunderstorms will continue, with some storms again capable of producing heavy rainfall. The overnight low is forecasted at around 74 degrees.
