The New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners, as announced by Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs, has permanently revoked the medical license of John Strobeck, a cardiologist from North Jersey.AdOfficials said this action follows allegations that Strobeck fondled and groped six female patients during office visits between 2008 and 2014 under the pretext of conducting medical examinations.

Strobeck, who operated practices in Fair Lawn and Hawthorne, had his medical license temporarily suspended in 2015 when criminal charges were filed against him in Passaic County.

These charges were resolved earlier this year when Strobeck entered a pretrial intervention program on January 16, 2024.

The allegations detail severe breaches of professional conduct, including engaging in sexual misconduct by inappropriately touching patients aged between 51 and 80.AdAttorney General Platkin emphasized the severity of the betrayal, stating that such behavior poses a danger to public safety and tarnishes the medical profession's reputation.

Acting Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs, Cari Fais, remarked on the importance of trust in the doctor-patient relationship and declared that the only adequate response to such egregious violations was the permanent revocation of Strobeck's license.

The consent order filed by the Board on April 8, 2024, also prohibits Strobeck from any future medical practice in New Jersey, sharing in fees for medical services, or engaging in any business related to healthcare in the state.
