The Honorable North Bergen Township Mayor Nick Sacco and his Recreation Department held its annual Children’s Christmas Party this past Saturday at the Recreation Center.
North Bergen officials said hundreds of children and their parents were entertained with a spectacle of dazzling holiday decorations, including a balloon igloo, music, dancing, cartoon characters, food, drinks, and free holiday gifts for all of those who attended.
“We gave out at least 1000 presents this year in addition to our raffle, which allowed several lucky children and their parents the opportunity to walk away with bicycles and other items of their choice, including Christmas trees.
Unfortunately, it rained, so some of our outside activities had to be canceled, but with so much other entertainment going on, we barely noticed!” said Recreation Commissioner Hugo Cabrera.
Mayor Sacco was joined by Commissioners Frank Gargiulo, Allen Pascual, Hugo Cabrera, Julio Marenco, County Commissioner Anthony Vainieri, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and many other characters, including Mario, Micky, and Minnie Mouse, Elsa, and many more officials reported.
“I’m in awe of our staff and volunteers, who keep upping their game every year,” said North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco.
“This is a beautiful event that we really enjoy because it helps families in the town and brings happiness to countless children.”
